North Lakes State College delivers - as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 31420) and in partnership with external RTO's - to deliver a number of Vocational Education & Training (VET) courses that focus on providing key practical skills and knowledge for our students to help them to be ready to complete practical learning and move directly into the workforce with nationally recognised qualifications.
Graduating year 12 with a VET qualification is a great way to help students’ have an advantage over others when applying for work, further study or potential entry into University Programs or Apprenticeships etc.
VET courses also contribute up to 8 credits towards your Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). This varies depending on the level of qualification completed (Cert I, Cert II, Cert III etc.)
One completed VET course - at a Cert III level or higher - when combined with four General Subjects may also contribute towards an attainment of a Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) that is used for University Entrance
