​North Lakes State College is proud to offer a suite of Signature Programs designed to inspire excellence, nurture talent and empower students to achieve their full potential. Our Signature Programs provide students with the opportunity to pursue their passions while engaging in high-quality, future-focused learning within a supportive and challenging environment.

These programs allow students to extend and enrich their learning through specialised pathways that promote discipline, teamwork, leadership and personal growth. Students also benefit from meaningful opportunities to connect with the wider community through performances, competitions, events and partnerships that strengthen real-world understanding and engagement. North Lakes State College currently offers Signature Programs in Dance, Golf, Rugby, Basketball and the Inspire Academy, each delivering unique learning experiences, expert coaching and pathways for personal and academic success.

To apply for a Signature Program, please submit your online EOI (found on the Enrolments Page). You will then receive a link to apply for the Signature Program you are interested in.

The Signature Golf program is currently available to all students in​ Year 7 - 12 through application only. The Program follows a holistic approach to student development and exposes the students to all facets of the game with the objective of assisting each student to be the best player and person they can be. Students will engage in specifically designed training session​s by a qualified Australian PGA Professional, with the objective of enhancing the student's knowledge, skills and attitudes which are crucial to encouraging player development and pathways into the golf industry.​

Our Rugby Union program will provide extra opportunities for students, and aim to increase personal and teamwork skills in a fun and challenging environment.​

Signature Rugby includes safe and qualified coaching, sports nutrition information, and a strength and conditioning program.

The program aims to help students achieve their goals in sport, with opportunities to not only represent the school, but also be selected in district, regional, and state teams.

 Signa​ture Basketball 2026

​​​​​Our Basketball program is currently available to all students in Year 5 - 12 who meet the selection criteria and standards set down by the College's coaching and management staff.

The Signature Basketball Program aims to provide students with thorough and exclusive opportunities through specialised coaching. In recent years, students have had the opportunity to be coached by current Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach, Phil Handy and Head of Boys Basketball, Sierra Canyon Los Angeles, Coach Andre Chevalier. 

​Students engage in tailored strength/ condition and rehabilitation programs. Programs are completed collaboratively with the Exercise Scientists and Physiotherapists from the North Lakes Sports and Rehab. The program also works in conjunction with Fitstop North Lakes, where senior students have the opportunity to work with elite trainers within our local community.

Signature Dance Logo.pngSignature Dance 2026

As part of North Lakes State College's Signature Program, we offer a highly successful extension dance program from Prep to Year 12 for students who are considering a career in the dance industry. 

Two troupes operate within the College: Lil Mid Kicks (Prep to Year 6) and Kicks (Year 7 to Year 12). Led by highly qualified Dance teachers, these troupes perform at various competitions and events throughout the year which range from eisteddfods to North Lakes State College events. For enrolled students, auditions are held at the beginning of every school year. Out-of-catchment enrolments can submit their EOI and video audition to the Head of Department: The Arts, to secure a place in either troupe.

instrumental music banner.png​​Instrument​al Music

The Instrumental Music Program at North Lakes State College offers students the opportunity to learn a band or string instrument in an exciting, supportive, and high-quality music environment. The program is open to Years 3–12 for strings and Years 4–12 for band instruments, with expert specialist teachers providing tuition across strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion.

Students in the program then further extend their skills by joining our vibrant performance groups, including string ensembles, concert bands, stage band, and percussion ensemble, with regular opportunities to perform at school and community events.

To join the program, simply complete an Expression of Interest Form and email it to our Instrumental Music staff. We look forward to welcoming new young musicians into our thriving music community!​
