Robotics
Robotics is an integral part of the Science Department at North Lakes State College which runs before and after school (charges apply). We offer a beginners group for those students in Year 5 who have an interest in learning about robotics. This learning environment enables students to be introduced to the concepts of Lego robotics with a major focus on programming.Year 6 to Year 12 students have the opportunity to continue in Roboclub and become part of the competition group. This learning environment enables students to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts of robotics with a major focus on competition. Students are exposed to construction and programming concepts whilst enriching their development of team skills, problem solving, project management, ideation and communications. Competitions often include district, regional, state and national titles. The skills learned in Roboclub lead in to the Year 11/12 subject Engineering Technology Studies, where students study robotics as part of their control systems unit.
