Ai Bravi Studenti Di North Lakes

The annual Speech Contest for school students of Languages was held at the University of the Sunshine Coast in the last weekend of August.
It was wonderful to see the huge number of students involved from all over the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.  Our 10 North Lakes State College students who entered had to prepare a speech in Italian, present it to a panel of judges and then answer questions about the content of their speech - all in Italian. Some of their topics include; perché studio italiano (why I study Italian), La musica (music), la mia famiglia (my family) and The Vampire Diaries.
Our North Lakes students excelled in their speeches leaving the judges very impressed.
The results are as follows:
Jayde (5G)          Highly Commended for Year 5 Italian
ar (7G)        2nd for Year 7 Italian
Bella (8D)             2nd for Year 8 Italian
Alijah (8H)           1st for Middle Open Italian
Makenzie (8G) Highly Commended for Middle Open Italian

A special mention to Alijah (8H) who competed in both the Italian and Chinese speech competition and took home a highly commended for Middle Open Chinese, where he was up against native speakers.
