40 Hour Famine

North Lakes State College is participating in the 2016 40 Hour Famine.

By giving up something that matters to you for 40 hours, you can raise awareness and funds to help fight global hunger. You can give up food, technology, furniture or talking – anything that matters to you!
You’ll be supporting World Vision projects that help families improve their nutrition by learning about healthcare and how to prepare healthy meals.
You’ll also help deliver long-term solutions to hunger, like savings groups, better farming practices and small business training. With your help, children and families can break free from poverty and hunger.

The North Lakes State College 40 Hour Famine Page is up and running. Any student who would like to participate this year, and who would like to make a difference in the lives of those who are experiencing poverty across the globe, are welcome to sign up. Simply go to the 40 Hour Famine website and sign up to the NLSC page. See also the North Lakes State College 40 Hour Famine Facebook Page.

Students under the age of 16 need to have a parental consent form completed. Forms are available on the website, or see Chappy Jendy for one.

Famine is from 19th - 21st August, so there is plenty of time to get those donations in! There will be no cash donations received this year, so please organise for all donations to be made online.
For more information, please see the 40 Hour Famine Website, or see Chappy Jendy.
